Good things happen when you least expect them!
This quote may sound cheesy, but the truth it conveys is incredible.
Last year was challenging, but somehow, I survived. Looking back, I vividly remember an episode in which I felt extremely low. However, I pushed myself to work on a project just to occupy my time and quiet some of my thoughts.
I picked up a shirt I loved and, using a seam ripper, unpicked all the seams, unraveling all the pieces that constructed that garment. The entire process was so meticulous that I was astonished at how much patience I had. To this day, I can’t believe that I was capable of such a thing, and I say it in a positive way.
I ironed the pieces and traced them on paper, creating a new pattern. When I started, I had no expectations and didn’t know if it would work. I knew only one thing, and that was to do something and not go crazy.
I have used the pattern three times already, and each time, I thank myself for it. Yes, it reminds me of difficult times, but it also reminds me of how far I’ve come. It’s weird to tell stories that are not so happy, but I guess that this is making me more human, and overall, the outcome is very positive.
My plan is to use this pattern on beautiful fabrics. Each shirt should be special and a great gift for that sad and lonely young Anca.

The fabric I chose this time is a beautiful cotton poplin with a floral print that makes me think of the expression called flower power.
I did not document the process as it happened then, but I have quite a few pictures of some of the details and the finished garment.
